The advantage of chemical peeling is that healing is faster than with modalities such as laser, TCA or phenol. The effects of chemical peeling are enhanced by proper skin preparation, the correct choice of peeling solutions, applicator, pressure, acid percentage, pH, exposure to skin and layers of application. Home care—both pre- and post- peel—is a major factor in achieving the best results from treatment.

Generally, a series of four to eight treatments is recommended (depending on the client’s skin concerns and severity).
